An incredible, yet very sad book. Very insightful and highly recommended for anyone curious about Afghani culture and life in Afghanistan between 1973-c.a.2004.

I can't say I ever truly had any intention in reading this despite the fact that I really enjoyed The Kite Runner. I don't typically like reading realistic modern fiction because I find it depressing no matter how wonderful the story. However I found out that my mom had ordered it months ago and nev...

The story is about 2 Afghani girl's lives in the backdrop of years of political and social turbulence in Afghanistan from the times of Soviets to Mujahideen to Taliban. Heart touching story about their trebulations and endurance.

This story is truly heartbreaking...the way women are treated is disgusting...if things like that happened here in America we'd all be sharpening our shovels. It is really eye-opening to read this and see and understand how lucky we are to live in such a forward-thinking society. The way Hosseini wri...

A very moving story which could change your life. This is a work of fiction which is beautifully woven using many threads of both harsh and loving reality. I cannot believe that it could be possible for any reader to get through this book without shedding a tear. I shed many.It is about the collis...
