A True Haunting. A Real GhostIn the early 1990’s I was a young mother in an abusive marriage. We moved into an ugly old house on the main street of a small desert town, and that’s where I met the ghost that would become a friend. We lived in that haunted house for two years. During that time, the ghost would visit me almost daily, after my husband had gone to work. It was like she was checking up on me, making sure I was all right. The rest of the time, she haunted the attic; I could hear the tapping of her heels as she paced back and forth up there.After I finally left my husband, I didn’t tell anyone about my friend the ghost for years afterward. When I finally did, I was met with the usual ridicule: “There are no such things as ghosts!” “It was your imagination!” “It was the old house settling!” etc. But I know what I saw, I know what I heard, I know what I felt. My house was haunted, and this is my true ghost story.
