This started off really great. The descriptions were beautiful, and I felt, necessary. Shire did so well believably describing the world as a blind man might experience it I wondered if he might be blind himself. He brought up points that I hadn't even considered, like how a blind man would know he ...
3.5 starsWho is the afflicted, the male prostitute or the blind john? Mr. Shire can write some lovely characters and a has a lovely way of portraying them in their world...some of the time. Such luscious, sensual, musical phrasing throughout but too often diluted with too much explaining and ruminat...
4.5 stars Had to take half a star down, because of the ridiculous prose in the beginning and Dillon's lack of communication in the end. Otherwise, this was great. Can't wait to read book II.

Also, if it makes any difference, I should also mention that the book isn't brimming with flowery similes, metaphors, analogi...
Loved it. It was really interesting to read this type of story where the attraction is not based on sight. The descriptions and emotions were very believable. The characters were strong and real. It was HOT!
