Trotz einiger Bede...

Do I have say more than this is read by Robert Glenister? Oh, okay. Sutcliff's young adult/child version of Troy is actually a pretty good combination of the various Troy cycles, though she does not go into the evens after the Fall of Troy. It's actually quite good.

This is the story of Turin, and in my opinion it is the most tragic of all of Tolkien's stories. It's up there with Steinbeck, for just how dark and miserable it is. For a good love story, read about Beren and Luthien in The Lays of Beleriand. If you want to cry, read this. It's been about twen...

I was quite worried, when I sat down and finally decided to dive into "The Hobbit", that I wouldn't enjoy it. I have heard from many people that it's the kind of book that you either love or hate, and I hoped I wouldn't be on the latter end. One of the things I enjoyed over the course of reading it ...
want a real life adventure? come to Australia we have spiders bigger than your hand.
Well that was not as good as i had hoped, nor was it all that scary. The Ilistrations on the other hand, were absolutely fantastic, they made the book much more pleasant and spooky. kudos Alan Lee for a job well done!!otherwise there were a few good stories, that i rather enjoyed but the rest left s...

This one is a little hard going. If you've read The Silmarillion, it is similar in tone and expands on Tolkien's mythology. Personally I like this sort of thing, but it can be a little dry for some people. It's not what you would call fast action and Tolkien does have a way of dragging things out....

Even if this is a very good book, I was not sure to like it because it was different than the Hobbit. I mean that the story explain a entire life, so it's not only an short adventure. It's a lot of things that happen in only one book, so we only read the most important events. It's a bit complicated...

The Children of Hurin was amazing, and I love the illustrations, but what a tragic ending! Hurin was finally released from Morgoth's bondage and was reunited with his wife Morwen, but it was too late! I loved that Turin slays the dragon (Glaurang) like Hercules. I loved the Fey in Lord of The Rings...
