Every word of this 91 page novel is so carefully thought out. Beautifully written and infinitely sad, it is reminiscent of a folk tale or fable, and like any good fable, it ends justly. I would like to explore other works by this Italian author.

Don Juan, the man who loved women. Who loved all women and had to be with as many of them as he possibly could. Because Don Juan is also the man who is only afraid of being bored. “Don Juan isn’t an imbecile, he’s just a man who loves women, and he loves them so much that it’s impossible for him t...

The edition I have doesn't have the movie-tie in artwork. This novella has such beautiful, sparse writing but each word helps to bring the environment to life. I felt like I could feel all the silks, plants, the snowy air, everything. Funny too, I was a few pages in the book before I realized I had ...

I found myself totally captivated by this odd yet hauntingly beautiful story of love. This short little book fills its pages with so much mystery, suspense and love that I found myself wanting to read it again and again, gaining more from it with each reading, yet never quite knowing it completely, ...

I don't know what to think about this one, it's slightly confusing. Maybe I'm missing the point but it didn't leave a great impression on me. I just realized maybe I'm being unfair to this book, some parts deserve much more than these two stars but I have to look at the book as a whole. I think I wo...

This Novel could so easily have become a tale of revenge, carrying on with the bloody path it first seems to be taking, but it becomes so much more, with it’s beautiful understated prose, placing it in a no mans land, in a time and place unstated. It’s myth and like myth it’s relevance is timeless...
