YA meets middle east meets cyberpunk - not quite the genres I am used to but it's bouncy and energetic - it's two stars for me because I find it hard to engage with the plot (it's me, not you)

I loved this book! Alif's story of religion, romance, revolution and a reverse Thousand and One Nights flew by like grains of sand in an hourglass and as I reached the final pages I was mournful when the last few grains fell to the bottom of the glass.
