It's always a bad idea to date your boss. No one knows this better than Callie Grey who has just been blind-sided by Mark, her boss and ex-lover, announcing his engagement. Callie has been in love with Mark for years and has always held onto the hope that he would eventually return her feelings. Hav...
Set in St. Johnsbury, VT (my home state), so bonus points for that, and for the lesbian marriage subplot (and this before marriage equality was hot). The book started slow, but I kept with it because it has some quirky characters.
I don't read contemporary romance often, at least for a long time. But I picked this up on a recommendation from a trusted book friend and was not disappointed. This was fun and cute and warm...everything a book like this should be. Callie was not perfect and I wanted her to open her eyes and quit l...
This is another of my books that has definitely benefitted from a re-read. The theme of Callie's story - that sometimes everything you think you want is FAR from what you really need - is not a new one in romance. Kristan Higgins' take on it, though, is charming. It is also laugh out loud funny, poi...
*squeals*I wish there were more guys like Ian in books. I like awkward men. It makes me feel better about myself. I get fed up of bad boys and broken boys and good boys. How about awkward ones. Those exist as well don't they? hmmmp
All I Ever Wanted was a lovely book. It was rather similar to Kristan Higgins' other book Too Good To Be True (which I read like two days ago), there were quite a lot of similarities, but oddly enough, I didn't really mind. All I Ever Wanted was sweet and moving. I actually found myself crying, somet...
Sigh, Kristan Higgins, I love you. And thanks for calling Dave "so, so alpha"; I couldn't help picturing Derek Hale. Though I must say, Damien isn't really anything like Stiles. I also must say, Ian has a considerable amount of depth to him and realism that Malone in Catch of the Day lacked. Me gust...
I am still feeling the urge to review in another way. Maybe the same old same old just wont cut it for me anymore. The Good:Callie was real, she was warm and she was nice and I liked her. And yes Ian was the opposite, cold, hard to get close to and guarded. But that is why I liked him because he was ...
Callie works in VT at the local ad agency. She's got a crush onthe boss but he's brought in a new female and he gives her an engagementring. She moves on and tries to catch the new vet which they have manyhours spent together as they get to know one another. She helps out her grandfather who only ha...
