I had really high expectations towards this book. I've heard so much about [a:Dan Brown|630|Dan Brown|https://d.gr-assets.com/authors/1399396714p2/630.jpg] and his books that it was impossible not to expect anything. That made this book a must read for me. It took me a while to get through the first...

The writing is terrible. The science is bad. His "smart" characters don't come across as remotely smart. The answers to the mysteries are all obvious from early on. Still, I enjoy a good adventure story.

The only thing that made this book even remotely bearable was the fact that I read it while I was in Rome, so I got to go on location, as it were. After this one and The Da Vinci Code, no more Dan Brown for me ever again.

I read Angels & Demons after reading The DaVinci Code, and that definitely influenced by reaction to the book.I love a page-turning mystery thriller, which is exactly what Angels & Demons is. But after The DaVinci Code, it just seemed formulaic. Take more-or-less the same characters, give them diffe...

The premise of his books is so promising. And then you actually read them.
