Opinions of Saturn
The book I'm planning on reading for this square is Witches be Crazy by Logan J. Hunder (ISBN: 9781597808200).
It's evidently a parody of the fairy-tale genre rather than anything spooky, but who can resist a title like that?
Murder by Death
You can't resist! :)

I added it to the list.
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Terry Pratchett's entire "Witches" subseries qualifies: Besides "Equal Rites" also "Wyrd Sisters" (ISBN 10: 0061020664; ISBN 13: 9780061020667), "Witches Abroad" (ISBN 10: 0061020613; ISBN 13: 9780061020612), "Lords and Ladies" (ISBN 10: 055215315X; ISBN 13: 9780552153157), "Maskerade" (ISBN 10: 0575058080; ISBN 13: 9780575058088) and "Carpe Jugulum" (ISBN 10: 0061051586; ISBN 13: 9780061051586).

Also Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman's non-series "Good Omens" (ISBN 10: 0060853980; ISBN 13: 9780060853983), for which there is also a highly acclaimed BBC 4 radio adaptation (ISBN 10: 1910281913; ISBN 13: 9781910281918).
Tannat
I'd suggest that Wyrd Sisters is the true first book in the Witches subseries, but if you must read Equal Rites, Wyrd Sisters should qualify for "It was a dark and stormy night" I think.

There's also all of Pratchett's TIffany Aching series, which is a spinoff of sorts of his Witches series: The Wee Free Men (9780385605335), A Hat Full of Sky (9780552552646), Wintersmith (9780552562898), I Shall Wear Midnight (9780552555593), & The Shepherd's Crown (9780857534811).
Opinions of Saturn
According to Murder's notes at the top of the page, only the first book in a series is making it on the list-- so the rest of the Discworld books are out (for the list.) I highly recommend the Tiffany Aching books for the challenge itself, though.
Murder by Death
I'll add the Tiffany Aching books; I didn't know they were a different sub-series or that she was a witch (Pratchett newbie here). I'll also note the rest of the series books in the Notes section for the first book. Do you all think that will work well? I just don't want to overwhelm a list with any one author's books.
Tannat
Tiffany is learning to be a witch (it's YA). Some of the other witches appear but it's mostly about Tiffany. If you add the Tiffany books, I'd say just add the first one. It may not even be necessary because it's here in the comments.
Murder by Death
I just added the first Tiffany book and included the titles to the other three in the Notes.
Murder by Death
@Themis: added.
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Thank you! :)

So many great books fit this square - I'll just offer up two series:

The Cahill Witch Chronicles by Jessica Spotswood (first one is Born Wicked). This is a really interesting YA series set in an alternate history colonial America with witches.

Jackaby by William Ritter: I loved the first book of this series, and I've been holding off on reading book 2 until book 3 is released, which it just was!

Also, I have Daughters of Witching Hill by Mary Serrat on my TBR - OBD recommends it!
Murder by Death
Added all three - thanks!
SusannaG - Confessions of a Crazy Cat Lady
A few YA/kid's titles:

Bedknob and Broomstick, by Mary Norton. A pair of novellas set in World War 2, and the origin of the Disney movie with Angela Lansbury. (Plot is not same as movie, btw. Though you can see what they pulled out of it to make a movie.)

The Witches, by Roald Dahl.

Uprooted, by Naomi Novik. A story based on the folk tales of eastern Europe, featuring magicians, witches, and an evil forest.
Tannat
Darn, I'd been meaning to read Uprooted. *Looks sideways at Maskerade.*
Murder by Death
Added, thanks.
Tannat
Question: Could Uprooted count for the YA Horror square? It's like fairy tale horror, isn't it?
SusannaG - Confessions of a Crazy Cat Lady
I think it might.
Tannat
Eh, I may just read it for fun. It's on my to-read list.
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Ian Rankin: "Witch Hunt" (ISBN 13: 9780752877310; ISBN 10: 0752877313) -- thriller whose protagonist is a female assassin nicknamed "Witch".

YA -- Gregory Maguire: "Wicked" (ISBN 13: 9780061350962; 0061350966)
Murder by Death
Added. :) Oops, missed Wicked... hang on...
Tannat
Huh? Where's Wicked?
Murder by Death
It's there.... now. Third time's the charm for NOT hitting "save" before the book is on the list...

Sorry 'bout that...
Tannat
I was just confused. I was trying to see if anyone had suggested it for another square.
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Hehe, thanks ladies -- I'd begun to think that I'm just too blind to find it! :)
Tannat
I checked by searching for "Wicked" on the page. :)
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Duh. :) Might have thought of that, too ... :D
Tannat
Well there was some "blind" searching before that.
Murder by Death
and Wicked is there too now. :)
SusannaG - Confessions of a Crazy Cat Lady
Oh, the Nora Roberts already on this list reminds me of another of her books:

Captivated, by Nora Roberts. (Note: first in Donovan series. All qualify, as all couples feature witches.)
Murder by Death
Got it! Thanks. :)
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books

Copied from the comments section of Moonlight Reader's suggestions post (http://moonlightreader.booklikes.com/post/1591111/a-few-bingo-suggestions):

Elentarri's Book Blog:
Nearly all [Patricia McKillip's] books have some sort of sorceress/sorcerer/witch/wizard in it. Od Magic is a good one if you want a wizard/sorcerer and a magic school.

Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Looking at McKillip's books, one that has a sorceress / "good" witch type of protagonist is "The Forgotten Beasts of Eld."
Murder by Death
Added!
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
A classic: T.H. White: "The Witch in the Wood"
Murder by Death
Added!
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Thanks -- for all of the additions!
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Taliesin by Stephen Lawhead (9780380706136)

Also, ISBN for a "regular" copy of Susanna Clarke's "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell": 9781408856888
Murder by Death
Added - didn't even notice the wonky edition of Strange / Norell. Fixed that too.

Once things quiet down, I need to go through the lists and use them as a jumping off point for librarian clean ups.
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Hah. Yes, I've had that thought, too ...

And thanks!
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
More books from the participants' reading plan lists -- including unassigned / "free square" / "wild card" books that would fit this category:

Witches' Brew by Morgana Best (9781925674088)
Witches' Brew by Terry Brooks (9781841495576)
Morrigan's Cross by Nora Roberts (9780515141658) -- probably the other 2 books of the Circle Trilogy would work here as well.
Dance Upon the Air by Nora Roberts (9780515131222) -- again, probably the other 2 books of the Three Sisters Trilogy will work here as well.
It Takes a Witch by Heather Blake (9780451235527)
Elizabeth by Ken Greenhall (9781943910670)
Blood Magick by Nora Roberts (9780425259870) -- add it? Book 1 of the Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy ("Dark Witch") is already on the list.
Murder by Death
9781925674088 isn't in the DB, though I added book to the list via title search.

Blood Magick is actually the third book in the trilogy; Dark Witch is the first. :)
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Yeah, that's why I wondered whether we'd want to add it, since "Dark Witch" is already here. Sorry about the ISBN for the Morgana Best "Witches' Brew" ... :(
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (9781783295401)
Themis-Athena's Garden of Books
Next batch from the participants' "reading plans" posts:

A Match Made in Spell by Regina Welling & Erin Lynn (9781541188556)
Familiar Motives by Delia James (9780451476593)
-- also "A Witch's Cat Mystery" #1, "A Familiar Tail" (9780451476579)
A Witch's Handbook of Kisses and Curses by Molly Harper (9781451641851)
-- as well as Half-Moon Hollow #1, "Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs" (9781416589426)
