Reading list: Halloween Book Bingo - Diverse Authors Square
Please add any books you recommend (in the comments) that could be classed as Diverse Authors as defined by the creators of the Halloween Book Bingo as:
"Basically, any book that fits under any of the other squares, but which was written by an author of color."
Obviously, as this square refers to the author, any of their books that fit another bingo square theme will work here, even though they may or may not all be listed.

Reading this list (5)
Gabriel García Márquez: "100 Years of Solitude", "Chronicle of a Death Foretold"
Isabel Allende: "The House of the Spirits", "Of Love and Shadows", "Eva Luna", "The Stories of Eva Luna"
Gioconda Belli: "Inhabited Woman"
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: "Half of a Yellow Sun"
Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o: "Petals of Blood"
The Lotus Palace by Jeannie Lin -- a murder mystery in historical China; this is what I'm reading for this square this year.
(ISBN: 9780373777730)
A Study in Scarlet Women by Sherry Thomas -- a murder mystery that takes place in London; I haven't read it, but the cover is so pretty! I know, the story setting itself doesn't seem diverse, but Sherry Thomas is Chinese-American, so I wondered if it would fit anyway.
(ISBN: 9780425281406)
The Surgeon by Tess Gerritsen -- a murder mystery with a serial killer; I've read it, it's enjoyable, but not my favorite. Same as the previous, the story setting is American, and the characters aren't diverse, but Gerritsen is Chinese-American. If it doesn't fit, we can leave it out of the list.
(ISBN: 9781409095040)
The Decagon House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji -- I'm actually reading this for the Country House Mystery square, but it'll fit here too if anyone needs it.
(ISBN: 9781508503736)
And one strange little book that I would classify as horror: The Strange Library by Haruki Murakami (ISBN: 9780385354318) I still have no idea what's going on in this little picture book.
And yeah, I've been wanting to read A Study in Scarlet Women as well. And the second book in the series has an even prettier cover!!
Back in the day, it was either Amy Tan, or Lisa See... and I never was able to get into Lisa See books.
Undead Girl Gang by Lily Anderson (ISBN: 9780451478238)
Dread Nation by Justina Ireland (ISBN: 9780062570604)
Incubation by Adrienne Lecter (9781515279020)
The Labyrinth of the Spirits by Carlos Ruiz Zafón (9781474606202)
The Red Power Murders by Thomas King (9780006395515)
Blackwater Rising by Attica Locke (9781846687532)
Bluebird, Bluebird by Attica Locke (9781781257685)
Keeper of the Bride by Tess Gerritsen (9780778315322)
The Tokio Zodiac Murders by Soji Shimada (9781782271383)
The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas, père (9780451530035) -- I suppose it qualifies since Dumas was mixed race?
A Conspiracy in Belgravia by Sherry Thomas (9780425281413) -- do we want to add this one, though? The first book of the series ("A Study in Scarlet Women") is already on the list.
Archangel's Consort by Nalini Singh (9780425240137)
-- also "Guild Hunter" book no.1: "Angel's Blood" (9780425226926)
The Liminal People by Ayize Jama-Everett (9781931520331)
It exists in paperback too but hasn't been put on the system yet.
