While this is not the first of Heyer's novels that I've read, it was the one I was most interested in reading, because it seemed to promise the most repartee, and while it did deliver, most of it was between the lead male, Beaumaris, and the stray dog he picks up. While Arabella has her passion and ...

I feel like every time I finish a Heyer my reaction is "NEW FAVORITE HEYER", and I guess I should just conclude that Heyer is awesome. But I really adored Arabella, perhaps because Mr. Beaumaris is my favorite Heyer hero so far, the only one I've actually fallen in love with. Not to mention Arabella...

My least favorite novel from this author thus far. It wasn't awful, and did manage to hold my undivided attention several times, but there was a lot of boring in this book. I absolutely did not care for Arabella's brother and his wet-behind-the-ears trip to London.

I thought it was a cute, light, and fun book. Exactly what I was in the mood for!

What a treat! A rare heroine who is truly goodness and grace... unafraid to try to help those around her and right injustice. "Arabella" is innocent, yet brave and strong. She doesn't give a fig about impressing the ton, which makes her a breath of fresh air.I loved Beaumaris' gradual change from tr...

Another timeless Regency romance novel by Georgette Heyer. The cast of characters are vivid and well defined, the details of Regency life infallible as usual. The underlying tension between idealism and realism sets this story apart from her more lighthearted novels. We get a glimpse of the chimney ...

by Georgette HeyerI have a few favorite Heyer books: Devil's Cub, The Grand Sophy, Frederica, and Sylvester. Arabella is the latest addition to this storied company (I'm sorry. I don't know. The words just come out somehow). Anyway, why do I like it so much? I think it's because both Arabella ...

This is by far the most cleverest plot that Georgette Heyer has created. Granted, I wouldn't call myself someone who has read a great part of her novels yet, but I'm getting there.Arabella is headed to London to stay with her godmother who is going to introduce her into society. On the way there, he...
