Humor writing is REALLY hard. The author is a funny, well-known comic who in her stand-up routines is quite funny. On the written page, it doesn't work as well. Were someone to read this to you, it would be somewhat more funny, but in print reads like a breathless explosion. Again, were Ms. Handler ...
I've wanted read this book ever since I saw the title, which I felt echoed my own occasional heartfelt conversations with the spirits that move me.Occasionally funny, if only for the outlandish experiences she gets herself into. I liked the first story about her childhood claim to be in a movie with...
First of all, let's take a moment to laugh at the title. What a funny spin on Judy Blume's Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret. Okay, now on to the review. You may be familiar with Chelsea Handler from her late night show on E! network, Chelsea Lately. Her humor can be offensive, racial and harsh. ...
I LOVED this book, which surprised me. I don't care for short-story books at all and prior to this I wasn't a big Chelsea Handler fan. This book made me laugh out loud more than once and I would definitely read her other books.
A collection of anecdotes from Chelsea's life. Some are quite funny, others are very crude and in poor taste. A quick read and the sort of book you forget you've read, once you've turned the last page.
This was by far the best of Chelsea's three books and my favorite. The things that she thinks up out of the blue are just absolutely hilarious. I love her style and I find her extremely entertaining. Her friends are crazy, her father is atrocious and she never seems to be able to avoid making crap u...
Chelsea Handler has always been a comedienne that I've been interested in. In general, most snarky comedians typically speak my language. I have enjoyed both her standup and her late night show, and thought that one of her books would be something that would interest me....and it did. To a point....
This book, absolutely, hands down, is the best comedic book I have ever read, by any author, including Chelsea Handler herself. This is a book although I read it several years ago, I still go out of my way to recommend.
