I know this is labeled as a 'young adult' series - but Artemis is good reading for anyone over the age of eight or so. Dry humor in abundance, an amazing cast of characters and fun, complicated plots still make these some of my favorite books.

Want to meet the guy who's smart enough to take over the world? Well he's twelve years old. And his name is Artemis Fowl. I have two words for this book: GREAT FUN. If you are at all young at heart or you just want to read something different from your usual fare, then check out this book. Artemi...

I got the 3-book boxed set for the price of 1 book. Sadly, I don't find myself interested enough in the series to continue with books 2 and 3. The book began interestingly enough. A 12-year-old genius hits upon a plan to replenish his family fortune by stealing gold from Leprechauns. The author clev...

I thought this book was all right, but I didn't find anything special about it. I actually found Artemis to be a rather annoying character, and I didn't really have any sympathy for him. Besides, Artemis is the Greek goddess of feminism, so it seemed kind of strange as a boy's name.

I love a good fantasy :) This one isn't high literature, but it's fun and entertaining and a cool idea. I love the idea of LEP-Recon.

One of my fifth graders issued a challenge, to which I could not say no. We were to race to the end of the series (at that time there were only five). I won, of course, but loved every minute of it. Nice, quirky series for fourth grand readers and up.

Disappointing. The ecological comments are very heavy handed and simplistic which naturally ticked me off no end. There is also very little depth in the characterisation and a disturbing amount of graphic violence. Alarmingly similar to an action movie or a video game. The writing is of the usually ...
