Liar and Spy is not as good as When You Reach Me (but then, what is? Besides A Wrinkle in Time). The story feels a little sparse, but overall I enjoyed it.
An awful lot like When You Reach Me--the two feel very similar when you read them. I really liked the group of friends that Georges had in this book. I didn't really see any of the twists coming, but I would still say this book is good, not great.
This seems like a book that adults would think is really great but that kids might not be excited about. Like when "literary fiction" is deemed excellent by critics but on-the-street-readers might not be very interested in it.
