Await Your Reply examines the question of identity in old and new ways. Throughout the book there's a philosophical undercurrent dealing with that ancient question of what constitutes a "self." The plot ties into that question using the more recent issue of identity theft, which allows people to e...

I really enjoyed this one! Three seemingly unrelated stories that each take the reader on a journey of mystery, pain, sadness, but there is always something you can't quite put your finger on. Brilliantly written and with a conclusion that will leave you wanting to read the book again and again, I c...

Await Your Reply is a mesmerizing journey into the self. Can we reinvent ourselves and leave all traces of our former being behind? Three separate story lines impel us to find the connection between them. The writing is deft and the story urgent. There is a completed narrative on a simple level but ...

Maybe I should give this book four stars, but there is so much to like about it and I had no complaints until near the very end. Slightly different, likable, unsatisfying ending. That basically sums up this one. It was just a bunch of stress from all these people getting themselves in trouble, and no one was who they said they were. Not a bad book, just ended somewhat abruptly.

Imagine a mystery, but a mystery written by the author of literary fiction. That mystery is Await Your Reply.Three stories are told in this book. All three are the stories of identity, who a person is, who others think the person is, and the confusions of identity.

Not quite the masterpiece as Chaon's first novel, You Remind Me of Me, but an amazing read nontheless. Chaon again examines the idea of identity, and what makes up one's self. The characters in the book are all slightly to morbidly unsatisfied with themselves and yearn for a new identity, a fresh st...

I started this two nights ago, read a couple chapters and was instantly hooked by the cold open, two men rushing for emergency help, an amputated hand in an ice cooler on their front seat. But it was late, and I thought--cool, a thriller to dabble with for the next few nights. Then last night I pick...
