Bujold is a talented storyteller, but this book didn’t really grab me. It’s an exciting love story with lots of fight scenes, but I didn’t really like the main characters and the plot itself felt worn. A quick, enjoyable read, but nothing I’ll remember.

This was entertaining fluff, but disappointing when compared to Chalion & Miles Vorkosigan. For a while, I thought Bujold was channeling Lackey - the May/December romance between the 50 year old man and 20 year old girl was overwrought and over-angsty, and I wanted to smack Fawn several times.

Like most Bujold, this was a fast interesting read. She grabbed my attention with the viewpoint character, Fawn, who was likable and quickly made me care what happened to her.
