Morisot, close friend of Manet, married to his brother, mother of one of Renoir's favorite models, was an organizer of the Impressionist exhibitions and a pioneering Impressionist painter and printmaker. She was also the model for some of Manet's greatest paintings and both Manet and Renoir made drypoint portraits of her.
