Seen at Scott Reads It!**I would like to thank Disney-Hyperion for providing me an ARC on NetGalley.** Beta is one of those books that came with alot of hype and publicity. I read many mixed reviews for Beta but I didn't let that stop me from reading it. Beta has a super interesting concept but I ...
I’ve seen Beta by author Rachel Cohn on a bunch of top YA reading lists on Goodreads and I’ll admit, I’ve been pretty excited to start reading. Especially since the description makes it sound a lot like Wither by Lauren Destefano, which I loved .So when I finally got the chance to start reading Beta...

I just couldn't finish this one. Two reasons: there were some things I found disturbing (the treatment of the betas, which I understand, but didn't like) and I was just plain bored. It never really held my interest.

Even from the ARC (advanced reading copy), it has multiple overlay layers that blend between matte, shiny, and metallic. It’s gorgeous, and s...
booknook — Young Adult book reviewsBeta was so much darker than I anticipated! If you're looking for a light, interesting read about clones, look somewhere else. Beta has suicide, heartbreak, murder, drugs, rape, and slavery! WOW! Totally not what I expected, but I ended up loving it.This book i...
This and other reviews can be found on Reading Between ClassesCover Impressions: The color covers are pretty but it feels like someone went a little overboard in photoshop. The tattoo and violet eyes would have been much more impressive if they had been part of the original photo shoot rather than ...
I won’t mince words and as a result I am going to spoil this book a little. If you are afraid of spoilers, please don’t read on. Fair warning. When a book uses rape as a plot point, especially when the character was initially a supporting and caring brother-like figure, I get pissed off. When this is...
