I quite liked the characters and Karin Slaughter's writing style, but I felt the first murder was gratuitously extreme. It also didn't tie in at all with the motivation of the murderer, revealed later in the story, so was clearly designed for shock value alone. There was also some very questionable ...

There are a few too many unlikely coincidences the occur to make things easier for the author, and there are too many common names (it's Matt/Will and Jeb/Jeff this time, and I know I get annoyed with this a lot, but my husband is a professional writer and he AGONIZES over making sure he never uses ...

This one started off slow at first. I like how the author didn't give all the information about these characters up front. She let discover things as we read. And the ending WOWZA!!

This is the first book I've read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I actually cared about the characters and just couldn't get enough of it. I will definitely be reading more of her books in the future.

I had guessed who the bad guy was from the get-go, but still, the whole book just was a "meh" feeling to it.This was the first book that I've read that goodreads had recommended to me. It was reco...

As the first book in a series, the charm of this book for me comes from the relationship between Sara and her ex-husband, Jeffrey. I have a soft-spot for stories about ex-es, because it carries more emotion and I love to see how they reconnect. Other than that, I have likes and dislikes of the chara...
