After 5 books Laurell K. Hamilton manages to wow me with her consistent chain of events in each Anita Blake book. It wowed me but for some odd reason my fav book of the series is still Circus of the Damned. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the books to check if any one of them would change...

2nd time re-reading this - this time by audiobook. I also have the paperback.I was glad Anita finally let some of her feelings for Jean-Claude show, the poor guy! The narrator does a good job but her Jean-Claude is pretty awful.

Why do I seem to recall liking these Anita Blake books so much more years ago when I first started reading them? Have I simply matured and become exposed to better author and writers since then? Or is what people have been saying true, that there is a turning point in this series where everything st...

4.5 Stars. This is my favorite book in the Anita Blake series so far. This is the first AB book that I listened to the audio of rather than reading. In Bloody Bones, Anita begins to bend from her very rigid moral code, which is a good thing. We learn about Jean Claude's background before he was ...

I'm very tired of this series. I really wish I liked it more, because Anita is a likable character, but nothing enjoyable happens. I don't like the stories as much as I should to keep going. This one took me a month to get through. Just going to stop here.

Synopsis: When Anita Blake's boss at Animators, Inc., informs her that she's expected to raise 300-year-old zombies from a field of jumbled bones just to settle a land dispute, she's understandably annoyed. But as soon as she arrives in Branson, Missouri, to do the deed, the job gets more interestin...

As far as the Anita Blake series goes (so far for me) I found this one to be one of the more interesting ones. I suppose the introduction of the fey put more into it as well as having more Jean-Claude. Anita is still her tough and nearly annoying self, over confident even though she swears she isn't...

Anita goes deeper into the vampire world and comes up against a few vamps who truly frighten her. She works with Larry again, her trainee and learns a little more about Jean-Claude. She may be beginning to see him as more than just a cocky know-it-all with the hots for her. She sees a side that make...

Bloody Bones is one of the more brutal outings in this series. A huge portion of the book follows Anita Blake as she’s working and this time she’s called in on a case that is particularly gruesome. Three teen boys are brutally slain, a young teen girl is left for dead and a young boy has been kidn...
