The character of Botchan is so similar to Holden Caulfield, except this one is more impulsive. i found myself giggling a couple of times.

akhir novel ini kayak diputuskan dengan tiba-tiba dan bikin saya mikir "udah gitu doang?!!". berasa ditinggal tidur pas lagi bercinta. tapi makian-makian tokoh utamanya cukup inovatif. banyak bagian yang lucu. guru beli dango aja diributin. botchan idealis grumpy. kayaknya gak asing.. mirip kaca.
This is a nice (humorous) tale simply told (1st person) about a young man's battle with the interpersonal conflicts of a small and traditionally minded school. (It will help you to enjoy this story more if you understand the Japanese social order and politics of that time.)
