~*Full review on The Bent Bookworm!*~Narration:The narrators for this Audible Editions version were fabulous. Each character has their own narrator for their various journal entries, letters, etc., and they were all easily distinguished from each other. I listened at 1.25% speed, which helped with t...
Sometimes you come across a lesser known work by a famous author (especially if they're famous for one work only) and it's astonishing just how different it is from their crowning achievement. This is what happened when I came across two books by Bram Stoker which were collected into one volume. Bra...
Narrators: Alan Cumming, Tim Curry, & full cast I’m done! I’m not sure what to say about it though. I am glad to have read, or listened to, this classic, but I think I’ll need to reread it in print at some point. The performances of the cast were quite good, although I’m not sure how well this boo...
The true original, where it all started and a phenomenon that spawned a generation and more of copy cat stories and movies. So I switched to the 2016 BBC audio adaptation of Dracula, starring David Suchet in the title...
The way this book is set up--being told through a series of diary/journal entries, letters, etc.,--really lends itself to a multiple narrator format. Everyone involved gave an amazing performance, especially Alan Cumming as Dr. John Seward, and Katy Kellgren as Mina Murray/Harker.
Audiobook of classic mystery/horror short stories, all written between 1840-1910, and all that implies. The advantage of the audio is that the modern reader must experience the stories as intended, but with excellent professional narrators. The disadvantage is that the modern reader can’t skim throu...
