I was charmed by the first sentence: "I am always drawn back to places where I have lived, the houses and their neighborhoods," though I could not help mentally drawing a line through "where" with my imaginary (and compulsive and annoying) red pen, which tells you I don't agree with reviewers who ha...

I definitely liked the movie better (and couldn't help picturing Audrey Hepburn throughout the novel instead of Capote's blond Holly Golightly), but the book was enjoyable as well...even if I was just kind of playing the movie over in my head. My edition also had three short stories ("House of Flowe...

The Book Report: Miss Holiday Golightly, Traveling, meets a nameless man in her WWII-era brownstone, ignores and then abuses him, and never truly sees him (or anyone else, unless she has her prescription sunglasses on) as she pursues her life of errrmmm uhhh enthusiastic debauchery around the man-st...

I have never seen the movie of Breakfast at Tiffany's so my view of the book is not colored but its iconic qualities. Truman Capote can turn my heart inside out just telling a simple story. Never was there such a writer. And never anyone quite like Holly Golightly.

The theme that unites Breakfast at Tiffany's with the three much shorter stories in this volume is the powerful bond of friendship between unexpected people or in unusual circumstances. The title story is a male fantasy, told in such a visual way, that I'm not surprised it was turned into a film (whi...

I love this book; I find that it's one of those books that I always come back to and the older I get, the more I get out of this book. In my teens I thought Holly was obnoxious and not a very sympathetic character but now as I enter my thirties I find myself more drawn to her. She is making the best...

Fans of the movie may not enjoy the original novella, but "Breakfast at Tiffany's" is just delicious. It's a little seedy, a little sexy, and completely engrossing. Capote is a marvelous storyteller.

This edition contained not only Breakfast at Tiffany's but also three short stories; House of Flowers, The Diamond Guitar, and Christmas Memories. Breakfast at Tiffany's was every bit as good as I was hoping and well deserving of five stars. I am leaving out the synopsis, as the stpry is well know...
