Anita begins to come in to her own as she begins to learn that she is both lupa to the wolf pack and the new alpha for the leopards. Richard has a difficult time with being her ex and being a part of the thresome with Jean-Claude. Nice beginnings for Jason and Nathaniel. Very enjoyable.
2nd time re-reading this - this time by audiobook. I also have the paperback. I got to chapter 5 and then the audiobook's next section was chapter 28! Ugh! So I grabbed the paperback and finished it. I'm really enjoying reading/listening to the series for a 2nd time. Reminds me of why I liked th...
4 stars because I was very interested and captivated by the story. However, some things frustrated me. Is there any limit to Anita's power? It seems like she is able to fix any problem or fight any enemy and she suddenly has a new power to do it. The story was good and I really liked it, but it ...
The last quarter of this book turned into ménage-a-torture and a voyeuristic nightmare *g* Hoping for more alone time with Jean Claude in the next installment – seems like Anita was grinding on everybody but him. There were many references to what Anita and Jean Claude had done or wanted to do. St...
Hmmm, I noticed most of the reviews here don’t go into any sort of plot here. I couldn’t figure it out at first but now that I’m almost finished with this reread I get it. There isn’t one. Well, that’s not quite true. There were threads of plot, the vampire council has come to town to rape and p...
Another 4 1/2 star book in the Anita Blake series! There's a fire bug loose in town, or is there? Strange happenings, lots of plot lines and again, neatly tied up in the end... The story between Anita, Richard and Jean-Claude becomes even more complicated as Anita begins to experiment with her power...
Loved it, as always!! Action packed from beginning till end. I love that there is always something that I just don't see coming in this series. There is always so much going on that you can't predict it all!
Staring across the table at the smiling vampire, I wondered if I got the joke or if I was the butt of the joke. There were nights when I wasn't sure which way the grave dirt crumbled.Anita is still annoying, but slightly less so. She goes up against the vampire council with Jean-Claude...it is start...
In this books, we meet two members of the vampire council, Padma, Master of Beasts and the Traveler. The Traveler is a scary vampire. He can possess another vampire's body and use it get around. We never actually see his body, I believe it never left Europe. Padma, the Master of Beasts, doesn't a...
This was the first Anita Blake book that I read, and I found it an easy entry way. At this point, Hamilton does not spend pages explaining everything. One does wonder, however, why Anita has to do everything. Honestly, can't someone else do something heroic? The book, however, was good enough to...
