I really enjoyed this book, despite it being not my usual type of read. I found the style of writing pleasing and the story flowed well. The story was full of endearing characters and was thought provoking.I'll be reading the next book in the series to find out more.

There's a bit of a dead spot about 1/3 of the way through, where I wasn't sure Gaia would ever stop being confused and naive, and it was starting to irritate me. This book was AMAZING YA lit. I could not put it down and wanted to read more and more. one of the things I really loved was the inclusion of (mostly) correct science. there were so many twists and I really really felt for the characters. LOVE IT.

Every so often, a couple of friends and I get together on Skype to chat, and occasionally to discuss books that we've all read. This time, we decided to record it. Thus we have an extremely amateur podcast (we even forgot to ...

Sixteen-year-old midwife Gaia Stone finds herself outside Enclave, with a baby, heading off into the wilderness to try and find her grandmother. It’s not long before she runs out of formula and food, and when she meets up with a rider, she hardly has the strength to refuse when he offers to take her...

Though Prized was totally different than Birthmarked, I felt it worked, and it didn't make this second book in the trilogy any less poignant, beautiful, or tragic, three things I loved so much about the first.Overall, my favorite aspect of Birthmarked and O'brien's writing was her characters and cha...
