I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review, thank you! When I was young I was a big fan of My Little Ponies. The original drawn series and the figures alike. I was glad the franchise was revived with My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic sev...

I got this from Netgalley and Diamond Book Distributors. It will be available to the public on June 17th 2014. Since today was free comic day I was in the mood to read something light. This is the perfect comic for a late elementary/middle schooler to read. It is only 88 pages long so it was a quick...

I'd say Smoke is 4 stars and Ashes is 3, just because I wasn't a fan of the character evolution through the different artists. The characters are so themselves in Smoke, people with their own bodies and facial structures and styles that are part of the world that is built and drawn in that story, an...

A good deal more personal and political than the first volume had been. This is on point for me, but I imagine more than a few people would rather have the more action-fueled first volume back. I'm very grateful that, this time around, none of the artists felt the need to overly sexualize Chace.

This comic's premise--that books are great things that contain whole worlds of wonder and imagination--is nothing new and has been done before. The "science fiction" elements are weak, from phone cord brain hook up ports to the suggestion, backed up by nothing in particular that we are somehow in th...

Readers of Hellblazer or Transmetropolitan will recognise something of this protagonist, Jaeger. An insider/outsider, who knows what's what, elusive, trickster, double-crossing, always something up his sleeve bastard. The success of the story depends very much on whether the main character charms ...

Reread this again recently and upped it from 4 to 5 stars. I can't think of a book that depicts creative struggle better than this one. The heartache and frustration that comes from the heavy lifting of carrying the world inside your mind out into the open, idea by idea. Loving books and storytellin...

Bland and doesn't do the series but justice. I suggest others skip it.
