Carol Richards was born in 1951 in London. A graduate of the University of Wales she worked first for BBC Radio in the further education department and then for Peter Cheeseman at the Victoria Theatre, Stoke-on-Trent on a pioneering community theatre project. She went back to the BBC as a playwright and subsequently published several books as a novelist. Under the banner of her independent production company Saturday Morning Pictures she has also written several plays for stage and screen.
