Seen at City of Books I have been avoiding writing a review for Carrie for four days or so. It is really hard to write a review a book that you really wanted to enjoy and had really high expectations for. Carrie was one of those books that I wanted to read for a while now and so I had to finally ...

Not sure if I want to review this book. How can you review a book that's so disturbing but yet still beautiful? I honestly have no idea so all I'm gonna say is this is one of King's best work.

I've always found it interesting that aside from Carrie, most of the successful movie adaptations of Stephen King's writings have been the non-horror stuff - "The Body" (Stand By Me) and "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption" (The Shawshank Redemption) are the two that particularly come to mind. ...

Carrie is an iconic horror story that just about everybody knows the ending to. I think even before I saw the movie as a teenager, I knew what happened - that image of a blood-drenched Sissy Spacek framed against a wall of fire is so pervasive in pop culture it's hard to escape that knowledge. Konnici na Liriite - Chevalier Du Lys

There are a couple of things I don't enjoy on King books. First is the over extending characterization and other. The other things are not prese...

After many years of book-snobbery, I've finally read a Stephen King novel. Infinitely better than I expected.

When I think 'Stephen King', one of the first things that springs to mind is Carrie (probably after Misery). It's been many years since I saw the movie (back in the olden days when we didn't have DVDs, only VHS), and there's a reason it's a cult classic. But when it comes to the book, it's creepy in ...

This is a tough one to rate. I read it shortly after it came out. I saw it on the "just arrived" shelf at the library and never heard of the author before. My initial reaction after reading it was "Wow! Not half bad" but it didn't register enough for me to see if he wrote anything else. At this poin...

It's a nice sad story with reasonably complicated characters. Don't know how realistic the depiction of high school bullying is though.
