How often are the book descriptions here at GR really true? Go and read the one for this book. It is true! Every word of it. Nothing is exaggerated, as is so often the case! It gives you all the necessary facts you need to know. As it says, this is a book of humor. This book will make kids laugh, ...
I've never been a fan of westerns (books, movies, or otherwise). So I was a bit hesitant when my husband was excited and determined to see the recent Coen brothers' adaptation of True Grit. I really liked Jeff Bridges though so I figured I'd give it a chance - and hey, if it ended up being a crappy ...
As a younger adult, I loved the John Wayne classic version of True Grit. When I saw they were making a new version, I decided to watch the old, then see the new. The result was two very different movies, which then spurred me on to read the book. My quest was to see which movie more closely follo...
Świetna historia o nieskomplikowanej fabule ze sporą dozą humoru napisana lekkim językiem.I wspaniała postać głównej bohaterki będącej zarazem narratorką. 'Doskonały western,pełen sarkazmu i gorzkiej ironii.Równie ekscentryczny, zuchwały,szczery i niezachwiany jak jego główna bohaterka'.To tekst z ok...

Even the dialogue is directly from the pages, which, while I was pleased to see, made me crazy bored because I saw the movie first, which is why I always like to read the book before I go see the movie. Mattie Ross has no emotion...
You can see my entire review at http://the-bookaholic.blogspot.comI highly recommend reading if you haven't. This will go down on my list of favorite classics. I just love the discovery of a book that you feel like will remain with you for a lifetime. I believe "True Grit" will for me. I'm ashamed a...
