Half a point less stronger than the previous book, Chasing Magic still managed to rock my socks. I just feel completely at loss for words. How Stacia continues writing such excellent UF series book after book? Chess feels even darker and closer to the edge of oblivion and death in this book, her add...

I have mixed feelings about this series. There are parts I like and parts I hate, and for the last couple of books, the parts I like were pushing through the most. I thought I was getting the hang of things. But 'Chasing Magic' seemed to push me backwards a bit - mostly because of Chess. It's common...

Love this book but not as much as I love Sacrificial Magic, book 4 in the Downside Ghosts series. Great writing. Four stars. Review to come...? (I'm insanely busy these days, and honestly all the haters have pretty much killed any joy I had in reviewing books altogether and, lets face it, I was n...

4.5I love being in Downside, which is quite honestly a very odd thing to say. It's such a dark, lonely, hopeless place. But my goodness, what a world! Every time I read another in this series, I'm just blown away. Something about these characters is so endearing, even with all of their faults. ...

Gritty and dark, this series still manages to make an emotional connection to the reader. Even when she's making bad choices, my heart breaks for Chess. Her abusive childhood has left her with low self-esteem, along with feelings of being dirty and unworthy of love from others. She tries to drown...

I dont think any other published work could pull off a witch drug addict church worker whom associates with drug dealing town gangstas who sometimes speak a completely different version of English that makes my head spin.In all expectations, it shouldnt work, the characters should annoy you, hell so...

This took me FOOOREVER to read! That in no way is a reflection of how good this book was, because not being able to read it was KILLING me. Darn vacations and new school years!Um, what can I say about this book I haven't said before. Well, I really love Terrible. If I've said that before, it should ...

It's no secret that the only reason I continued reading this series, instead of dropping it after Unholy Ghosts like I'd initially planned, is because of what a superb human being Stacia Kane is.After Chasing Magic though, I am DONE. Done with Chess, her drama llama ways, and her majorly screwed-up ...

Liked Chasing Magic so much more than Sacrificial Magic. There's more Terrible (yay!) and a lot of good emotional stuff between him and Chess. Terrible has to be one of my favorite heroes. He's not handsome, he's gruff but he is intense. And I love it. I loved how he laid it all out there for Chess....
