For over ten years, women have been responding in extraordinary ways to the provocative questions in Judith Duerk's best-selling book Circle of Stones: "How might your life have been different if, through every stage of your life ... birth, puberty, adulthood, old age ... you had been received, affirmed, sustained by a 'circle' of older, wiser women?" Women were invited to share-in reflections, essays, poems, and art-how the support of women has changed their lives. We were not prepared for the stunning, haunting, powerful submissions we received from women around the world.
