Dudes, this is book 14 in the series. Do NOT start with this one. Do NOT read this review if you haven't read books 12 and 13, there will be spoilers, because it's pretty much unavoidable when reviewing this book. If you're interested in the series, I would recommend starting with nr 4, Summer Knigh...

Some things to note before you read this rather rant fueled review. The first is that most of my GR and BL friends seemed to enjoy this novel much more than I did. The second is that I like Harry has everyman. The third is that there are going to be spoilers. WTF was that? Honesty, WTF? Why...

In which Harry's desperate ploy to save his daughter two books back comes back to bite him, beat him, and generally mess up his life in the way only the queens of fairie can. This played out in some ways quite predictably. He owed Mab, and she owns him now, as much as he'll let her. And she played...

It's official, I've developed a love/hate relationship with this series. This was needlessly long. As usual filled with nerd zingers. Enough already!! In this one Harry makes his comeback as a live corporal man and the Winter Knight. There's always been darkness in Harry but it's now creeping u...

I'm giving this five stars because I really like the direction Butcher is taking this series in, and because it had all of my favorite Dresden stuff in it in a more fun way than the last two books, which were five star reads in a more intense way. Full review later.

I dream of an urban fantasy novel that celebrates humanity in its many shapes and backgrounds. I dream of an urban fantasy that integrates folklore, the myths of world cultures, the tricksters and thieves and intelligent life in many forms. I dream of kindness paying unexpected dividends. I dream of...
