This is a pretty standard 'surviving high school' kind of book. Despite the length, I found it to be a quick read, because it is so simple yet engaging. Good character development, although highly stereotyped. Captivating story. I enjoyed the book much more than I did the movie adaptation.
I found the overly dramatic narrator a bit annoying, since she never really lets up. I guess I felt like her mother who is constantly nagged...
