There was a crooked man and he went a crooked mile. He found a crooked sixpence beside a crooked stile. He had a crooked cat which caught a crooked mouse, And they all lived together in a little crooked house. Crooked House is a stand-alone novel. I.e. it does not feature any of Christie's...

This is one of Dame Agatha's stand-alones - not associated with either of her two primary detectives, Marple and Poirot, or with any of her repeating characters in the vein of Colonel Race or Inspector Battle. I was ready to accuse Ms. Christie of channeling her inner Shirley Jackson with this one, ...

AudiobookThis was an audiobook play which I thoroughly enjoyed. Between scenes they played period appropriate music and although I'm only in my 50s, I knew all but one. Wonderful. The story itself, I had forgotten who did it and when I did it was still a little hard to take.

What a excelent story. Well, that's not correct. It sure is one of my favourite if some parts in the book were kind of dull. But it's that kind of novel that makes you wonder who did it because almost all characters had no motives whatsoever. > Read at your own peril. I will reveal the culprit... so...

No Marple. No Tuppence. No Poirot. Mon Dieu! Yet this short Christie mystery remains one of my favorites, likely due to the interesting characterization and well-crafted plot. It gradually builds tension, with a rather unanticipated but satisfying ending. An English man and a woman become fast compan...

OK, this book is CREEPY; not so much for the story, but for the identity of the murderer!Story is set in a "crooked" little house called Three Gables, where lives a wealthy old man along with the rest of the tight-knit family, including a young, beautiful wife. He dies of poisoning under mysterious ...

I long ago outgrew my fondness for Christie's mysteries, but Agatha herself said this was one of her special favorites, so I had to give it a spin. Just for fun I decided to pick a character I thought was the killer right near the start of the book and doggedly stick with that choice regardless of t...
