How could I have missed this? Published in 1989, this is what I always thought Salinger was going to be, and wasn't. Cool, hip, effervescent, breezy, twisted and delightful. Weetzie is a young woman who embraces life with a rare and crystalline enthusiasm.
I wish these books had been around for me to read when I was 15! Dreamlike and fantastic, Francesca Lia Block's world is full of fiercely individual teenagers who don't generally fit the mold.
