Why didn't I read this book sooner? It has sat quietly on my bookshelf for four years. I have passed it multiple times a day, year in and year out, without getting any sense that the awesomeness inside was calling to me. And there is awesomeness inside. Almost as much as the giant hypemonster promis...

My husband is finally reading this series, so I'm rereading it. I love the language and the way this story is written and fell more in love with is this time around.

It took me awhile to get to this book, but I am glad that I finally read it. I really enjoyed the writing style. The only reason that I gave this book four stars was because of some of the parts being slow and some parts being confusing to understand. Karou was brought up not knowing who she reall...

Read Harder Reading Challenge Item: An audiobook that won an Audie award. I've come to realize that the books I listen to when I do my monthly "cooking days" (6-12 hrs of cooking, which I then freeze and eat throughout the month) tend to get a "bump" in star ratings -- I think almost everything I've...

I am aware this is not a bad book. The setting is exotic, the chimeras are beautiful and the idea of little stones to have a wish come true is wonderful. I liked how Karou (I've read it all along "Kaoru") could make some silly things like give her ex-boyfriend annoying itches with her little gems. I...

This book really surprised me...I'm usually not into so much fantasy, angels and monsters and magic and such...but I am in love with these books! I sped through the first two and am reading the third now. I was curious because of all the great reviews, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how muc...
