No review I do could ever do this book true justice. The writing is beautiful and so too is the story. I had not known about the swans myth prior to reading this and so I came into it not knowing what to expect aside from what the summary states. But what I found I quickly fell in love with. Marilli...

What a perfect story. Sorcha rocks my socks. Her brothers are awesome, especially Finbar. And I adore Red. What an amazing story! I have got to buy a copy of my own.

Started out at five stars as a retelling of "The Six Swans" but the story petered out to three stars at the overlong ending that strayed too much into trilogy building romance. Still, a worthy adaptation of one of my favorite fairy tales.

When I started this book I was thinking it wasn't for me, that I wouldn't finish it let alone give it five stars. How wrong I was. This is a five star book. Full review to be posted at a later date.

The beginning was a bit slow, but it eventually picked up and I was able to lose myself in Sorcha's story. I admired her determination to persevere even though the odds were stacked against her. I thought her brothers became quite overbearing at the end of the book. If she was able to fend for herse...

Not for me. I don't do well with unhappy endings.

A few friends have recommended Daughter of the Forest to me and I'm kinda kicking myself for not reading this book sooner. The only book I've read by Juliet Marillier prior to this one is Heart's Blood and while I didn't hate it, it took me FOREVER to actually become interested in the story and fini...

So the final 100 pages or so were brilliant. If I had been reading on my Kindle, it would have been endless highlighting.
