I'm rating this having been told this is only part of a serial. I won't be reading the rest of the serial until it's finished because a) I don't have enough patience or attention span to read a WIP, and b) I'm pissed off that I bought this without the author or publisher allowing me to make an infor...

Eh. I read this because I read a review saying this was much better than "The Walking Dead," which I love, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Turns out, it's too super-hero-y for my tastes. It's still well written and I'm still a huge fan of Robert Kirkman, but this just isn't my cup of tea.

Very original and several interesting ideas/twists going on in this work. A couple things could have been slightly tweaked to make this one a 5 star for me, but that aside, I still thoroughly enjoyed the novel. I can confidently say that this one impressed me.

This was a unique re-imagining of Superman that was entertaining and thought provoking at the same time. Can you imagine what would happen if the all-American Superman were to end up crashing in the Ukraine instead of Kansas? Well neither could I. Fortunately Mark Millar's imagination was up to the ...

Great concept; lackluster execution (as some other reviews have pointed out). Having Kal El land on a Soviet collective farm rather than the Kents’ and growing up to become the champion of the USSR sounds good but it needed greater and better-thought-out development.

What if the ship carrying infant Kal-l had crashed in Russia instead of America, and Superman had grown up to become a Soviet superhero, subduing the world for communism?Great idea, although I would have liked a slightly longer book with more time to get in depth characterization and explore more hi...

This was a very interesting take on the Superman tale. Those of us who remember parts of the Cold War and Soviet Union will likely appreciate the history a bit more. Millar's take on the characters is pretty good. It is a comic, but it does have some depth to it. I am not as sure about the somewhat ...

I liked it. Words like "neat" and "cute" come to mind, which probably isn't what the creators want to hear but I have to own my feelings. I will swallow whole just about any superhero coming of age story, but, this one also has a pretty interesting and unexpected twist. Unexpected to me, anyways. I ...

What would superman be like if he was found by a family in communist russia instead of the good old U.S. of A? Pretty good story, even though I tend not to like the elseworlds books because they're basically "what if..." situations that are totally out there and really not all that appealing. This...

An alternate tale of Superman. What if, instead of landing in the US, his spaceship had landed in the Soviet Union? I loved the questions raised and the changes made to history by this small difference, but upon rereading I found the story less satisfying. There are three female characters, and t...
