I am done with this series. It wasn't enough for the author to insult all women but he had to throw gay men into the mix too with his feeble characterisations. Hewson simply can't write romance and he shouldn't even try. I'd prefer if Costa lived in a world where Santa delivers infants once a year a...

In his second Nic Costa novel Hewson actually tries to spin a true mystery. Unlike in his first where he simply gave up, here the identity of the culprit is withheld until the end. That didn't stop me from cottoning on to it pretty quick and having a solid theory by the halfway point in the book. I ...

This audiobook is done from a novelization of Macbeth. Most of the storyline is drawn from the play but the authors also drew from real historical events and fleshed out a few characters to add to the story. Add in Alan Cumming as the narrator and you get a great audiobook. I did feel that the v...

This is one of those mysteries where the author throws up his hands and says: "I give up." He doesn't even try to hide the killer's identity. Instead he focuses on creating engaging characters and obscuring the puzzle pieces so that the reader must rush through the pages to find out how the murders ...

I only picked this one up because I'd missed the last two episodes on TV and was very disappointed. What worked well as a TV show, with regular cliff-hangers, was annoying in print. It's not a short book but the constant rise and fall of suspects in and out of er.... suspicion, quickly because fo...

Thought this was a great way to read Shakespeare. I read the play in high school but due to the complicated language most of the plot and dialogue went right over my head. If asked what happened in the play I wouldn't have been able to say much more than that there were three witches and Lady Macbet...

Ciekawe zwroty akcji, fantastycznie przeprowadzone mylenie tropów. Początkowo sprawa wydaje się...
