Some parts of this book were 4 star for me, but others weren't. The beginning and the end dragged on, but the middle was so good I couldn't put it down. There were a couple of disappointments for me with this book. Just like the last one I wasn't crazy about the ending. It didn't leave me wanting to...

3 1/2 stars. I enjoyed it, but felt that Bailic was not nearly as sinister as he could have been, and I thought he was a bit slow not to have figured out who the keeper was. I did like the slow pace that their relationship developed at.

I always mean to re-read this series, but I may have sabotaged my efforts. I've started and stopped so many times, FIRST TRUTH is memorable enough to be boring, yet I can't remember the rest of the series well enough to jump ahead. I'm past the halfway point (and I remember that I find Strell as a...

Read Fall 2011I just did not enjoy it. It has some great elements, but nothing ever coalesced into an intriguing whole. The action is too fast, jumping right in without any understanding of this world. Which I'll admit sometimes works well, but not here. The main character, Tess, finds out her life h...

Yet another fantastic book by Dawn Cook. I find the idea of "players" secretly controlling the sovereigns of all the countries very intriguing, and I love Dawn Cook's characters. I REALLY hope she writes a third book because the ending definitely leaves room for one, and I'll need another book to fe...

She really disappointed me in this book with her dumb pride and selfishness. Talk about stirring my emotions, I wanted to reach throu...

4.5 Even better than the first book. This author seems to get better as she goes with a series. Her Hallows series was the same, each book got better. I had moments of tears, laughter and holding my breadth. Fantastic tale of love, magic, trust, betrayal and love. A wonderful audio book.Alissa has a...

I am a big fan of Kim Harrison, she is one of my top 5 authors. I had to try her Dawn Cook books, I found it very enjoyable. It is an easy to read, fantasy. The two main characters are from opposite sides of the track in this world. Alissa is stubborn, powerful with latent magic and naive. Strell ...
