I had high hopes for the novel: It's set during the 1930s in depression-hit dust bowls of Saskatchewan and the New York of the 1960s, and it's by a Canadian author....

3.0 A Student of Weather
I expected to like this book more than I did. I could tell from the blurb on theinside flap that it is my favorite "type" of novel, with a female protagonistand a difficult love situation. I loved the beautiful poetry of the writing. Ididn't find the story felt true, however.
