As usual, the book was great. (Dead to the World is still my favorite in the Sookie Stackhouse series though.) I have loved each and every mystery in this series so far and I can't wait to get the next book!

I'm on a reread of the series and so far I still enjoy it, but its been a lot easier to notice when the author says things are just plain stupid. I mean stupid stupid. Like, "The Japanese had been trying to hawk their synthetic blood to ambulance companies to make a few bucks." First of all, Japanes...

(this is the fifth book in the Southern Vampire Mysteries series. while i do avoid spoilers for this installment, there will be spoilers for the previous books...so watch yourself.)in a sentence or so: someone's out to rid the greater Bon Temps area of it's shifters, the werewolves are electing a ne...

So, Sookie doesn't actually have sex with anyone in this book. I think I'm a little disappointed. This was a reread, and I've read this series all out of order, and enjoy them, while forgetting them entirely in between reads. But when I came into this one, and realized at the end that Sookie isn't a...

Sookie is one lucky lady, except for getting shot and almost killed... again. She has all these guys (or vampires, were's and shifters) wanting to be with her. Quinn is such a tease because we don't know much about him yet but I like what i see so far.

OK, Ms. Harris, you're beginning to become predictable. Readers of the series to this point will recognize that the two most sketchy jobs in Sookie Stackhouse's world are 1) cook at Merlotte's, and 2) bartender at Fangtasia. It's like any TV "mystery" where there's a recognizable actor who's cast ...

6/3/11 ** Day 7 * Book 7 ** I think this is the best Sookie Stackhouse book I've read yet. I felt like I got a deeper look into Sookie's head and emotions. Also, we got to know several other supernatural beings better. There was a clear mystery that covered the full scope of the novel, with sever...

I found this entry in the Sookie Stackhouse series to be disappointing compared to the others. It was obvious to me who the villains were from the outset, so the intended reveal fell flat. Also, after reaching the end, I definitely don't like Calvin Norris or Alcide Herveaux as much as I did. I suppo...
