Best book in the series so far!And I like where this is going, considering the long-term changes that have happened to Dresden (and friends) the past books, especially this one.I really wanted to read some other book the past days, but I can't stop now, I'm on a Dresden Files roll.
4.5 stars ZOMG! :DAnother great installment in the series. These books are gradually getting darker, which seems hard to imagine when you think that the first one started with a murder by ones heart exploding out of their chest in a black magic rite, but they are. Harry's getting a little fuzzy 'rou...
This book continues the series that's a stupid amount of fun and I liked it better than others (lack of Murphy wasn't a bad thing, even though I like her character). The war plot has advanced, and they haven't brought in a lot of new information (maybe except things surrounding the Erlking). And But...
It pains me to give this a mere three stars but something was missing. Or maybe it was just too much going on. The story took place over 2 days, took 400+ pages, and only the last 100 were actually interesting. Seemed a lot of blundering around.
Being a wizard in Chicago in a world that doesn’t believe in magic or any other supernatural phenomena can be frustrating, but Harry Dresden has been doing it for years and should be used to all the complications this creates.Still, as used as Harry is to this secret world within the world, it alway...
Harry has been though so much crap since book 1, and yet he just keeps fighting. He's had his hand burned to a crisp, his girlfriend Susan was partially turned into a vampire (and as much as she's fighting the change, it seems like its rather killed their chance at happiness together), and now he h...
Sort of a "transitional" book in the series, feeling like it's setting up events and characters for future installments. A very solid read, though unfortunately I feel we are sort of spiraling down towards "Emo Harry" again. It's been 7 books, enough blaming himself for other people's misfortunes al...
I had some trouble with this one holding my attention at first. But there was a lot going on at that time so it may not have been the book's fault. But Butcher (and James Marsters) bring it in the end and it wrapped up in a way that had me laughing, gasping and on the edge of my seat to hear what ...
The one where it really starts to get good. Has several priceless scenes, especially in the last third, that had me re-reading this book. Best dinosaur scene ever.
