Welcome to Nightshade, California—a small town full of secrets. It’s home to the pyschic Giordano sisters, who have a way of getting mixed up in mysteries. During their investigations, they run across everything from pom-pom-shaking vampires to shape-shifting boyfriends to a clue-spewing jukebox. With their psychic powers and some sisterly support, they can crack any case! Teenage girls are being mysteriously attacked all over town, including at Nightshade High School, where Daisy Giordano is a junior. When Daisy discovers that a vampire may be the culprit, she can’t help but suspect head cheerleader Samantha Devereaux, who returned from summer break with a new “look.” Samantha appears a little . . . well, dead, and all the most popular kids at school are copying her style. Is looking dead just another fashion trend for Samantha, or is there something more sinister going on? To find out, Daisy joins the cheerleading squad. (20080901)

Dead is the New Black is probably one of the funnest, quirkiest books I've read in a while. There's a mix of everything in this book. Mystery. Romance. Paranormal. And just plain girlish fun.Daisy is fresh and easy to like. She is confident and doesn't trail after Ryan or change herself to fit in w...
This was a very fun book to read. It was a bit like reading Nancy Drew, only now in a supernatural world, where you have physics, monsters and more! And of course it has more romance. It was a quite book, Daisy was a really great character, and I was cheering for her a lot. While the world might be ...
I'm actually really disappointed in this book because I was very excited to read it. I will more than likely not be reading the other books in the series.
(3 1/2 stars)Short, easy read. I saw it on the library shelf and had always been curious about the series. I will read next book because I would like to know more about this family with mysterious powers. Book 1 was a brief introduction. Cute story!
