Formula for Sookie books: --nostalgia for her grandmother and a way of life that's been over for about ten years now--disappointment when nostalgia does not match up with real life--nail polish--a sexy dress that shows off her cleavage--attraction to more than one man--self-recrimination about attra...
I was satisfied with this one. A bit frustrated that the Sandra Pelt storyline came back when I hoped it was over and done with. It is now. I liked Bill more and Eric less. Sookie learns more about her fae background. Looking forward to the next!
Actually, more like 2.5 stars. At times, reminded me of when written-off characters pop up in a TV show for a visit. Sad but after such a fun start, seems like the series lost steam and we're now crawling to its end. Will it go out with a triumphant bang or an exhausted whimper?
As always there isn’t a boring moment in Bon Temps for our favourite cocktail waitress, Sookie Stackhouse.Everything starts with an attack on Merlotte’s, the bar where she works. While the bar’s owner Sam and Sookie are able to stop the fire before it spreads the big question is who threw the Moloto...
This book was so disappointing!!! While this series isn't my favorite, it's usually entertaining and good, quick read. This book was quick but not entertaining. I felt like nothing happened. Yes, they took care of Victor and Sandra Pelt but I felt as though both of those things could have happened i...
The peril of reading too many of these in rapid sequence is that I can't keep track of what happened in which book. It's safe to say the book contained arcane vampire politics, fae being creepy, werewolves jockeying for position in the pack, someone trying to kill Sookie and/or ruin her life and ass...
While Dead Reckoning had (mostly) everything I expect from and look forward to in the Sookie Stackhouse novels, there seemed to be a whole lotta nothing going on. There were even a few times when the same details were relayed between the same characters. For example, Sookie telling Bill about Eric's...
This book was not particularly enjoyable. In addition, Sookie was extremely hard to like. While she's never been the most open-minded person, in this book she was particularly hypocritical, whiny, and judgmental almost to the point of bigotry. I agree with the reviewers who suspect the author only w...
Rating: 3.75* of fiveThe Book Report: Sookie Stackhouse's latest print outing. I'm sure I missed something along the way. Too many givens aren't what my memory offers...well, who knows, I might just be sufferin' from worsening Half-heimer's. It certainly feels that way when one is internetless for l...
