I enjoyed the Southern Vampire Mysteries up until Dead in the Family which, for some reason I can't quite figure out, I just wasn't in to like I had been with the previous books in the series. So I was a little wary of picking up Dead Reckoning, but after 9 good books and only one meh book, I had to...

This book seems to set up several things that will likely be factors in the resolution of Sookie Stackhouse's story. It felt exposition-heavy in several places. I'm still charmed by Harris' wonderful attention to regional details, like cheese straws for a baby shower and the kind of punch that was s...

What a colossal waste of time and $$$$. 325 pages of (mostly) pointless, banal, useless detail about Sookie's life, including how many cups on her coffee mug rack got broken during Pam and Eric's scrap in her kitchen. She did this, then she did that. Then he said this, then she said that. Then s...

I have to admit, I'm feeling very indifferent about DEAD RECKONING. Aside from the very obvious getting resolved, what else really happened? Lots of words, but was there really any development?

As with any series, there are going to be hits and misses. Not all of the books in the series can be outstanding, especially when an author has eleven books in the series. Dead Reckoning, unfortunately, is not one of the better ones in the Sookie Stackhouse series. While it remains obvious that Ms. ...

At first, I was "Nooooo!!!" when she and Amelia and Bob did this because she didn't think it over at all, but then she lear...

Closer to 3.5 stars. This is more in the line of a transition book. There are lots of events, occurances, etc, but the book doesn't really go anywhere. I kind of think it was more about maneuvering people into the right place and setting down information to prepare us for the next book. There's no...

drey’s thoughts: Well, it’s not Sookie if there aren’t a bunch of crazy things happening around (if not to) her, and plenty of crazy things happen in this latest addition to the series. Her place of employment is firebombed. Two fairies live in her house. A naked were hangs out in her bed. And Debb...

My rating is actually 2.5 stars. I don't want to blame True Blood for how its affected the story and writing. As anyone who has watched the show knows, it is nothing like the books. That being said, I agree with some of the reviews in that this book is different. The voice of the characters is gone....
