It gets harder and harder to review UF series, because I feel like I am just saying the same things over and over. What I will say is, up to this point I wasn't sure what was wrong with me. Everyone, and I seriously mean everyone, goes on about how this is one of the best series out there. Well, prev...

I wasn't sold on the direction the love thread was taking, but after listening to this installment, I'm ALL IN. Same goes for the Knights; their holier-than-thou attitude would have tested my patience eventually, however in DEATH MASKS they demonstrate that they aren't 100% black or white either. Th...

In Death Masks, Jim Butcher returns to the type of story he excels in: one with intriguing new creatures, a strong central plot, but with a dozen curve balls thrown in to keep the reader on his toes. The thing I like about this author is that he doesn't respect the old conventions of storytelling th...

Harry Dresden is a self-righteous ass. I liked the series for its action and excitement, but his character is making it really hard to read the books. Not sure when I'll tackle the last Dresden book I have.

I’M OBSESSED I’ll tell you one thing, the further along in the series I get, the harder it is not to run out and buy all of them and spend days in Butcher’s world. The reason I’m not is quite simple: he’s not close to being done with this series, so even if I do read them all in a weekend, I’ll be...

it was the weakest of these I have read so far. Some of the imagery is getting a bit tired. I think I need to take a break from these (had the same issue with the discworld novels).

Dear Mr. Dresden,What a confusing creature you are.By rights, you ought to drive me out of my screaming redhead feminist mind. Not an adventure of yours goes by that you don't make some pompous reference to your own chivalrous feelings toward the fairer sex. And what, you will argue, is wrong with c...
