6/1 - This is a good legal thriller with the ADA's son as the main, if not only, suspect of the murder of a boy from his class. The only evidence of his guilt is the discovery of a single fingerprint on the jacket of the murder victim, with no way of telling when Jacob (the ADA's son) touched the v...

This was a book group read. It's a courtroom/crime novel with a twist, as the District Attorney finds himself dealing with a case in which his son becomes a suspect. It's not stellar from a literary perspective, but it is an interesting read from a psychological one. The book is about family relatio...

Started a little slow, but picked up particularly when the trial began. By the end it was a freight train running out of control. Fantastic read!

I really enjoyed this, although the only character I could really empathize with was the mother. Honestly for nearly the entire book I wished I could smack the main character, with his willful obtuseness and irritating arrogance. 5 brilliant and heartbreaking stars :-(This story isn't about proving Jacob is innocent or guilty. At least I didn't think so. For me this story was about fathers unconditional love for his son, no matter the outcome. Andy Barber is a 51 year old DA. Has a wife who is a teacher and a 14 year old son...

I certainly don't remember reading this book before but the entire story was very familiar and I knew exactly how it was going to end (including the whole vacation thing!). I don't know if that means at some point I read an incredibly similar book or that I'm psychic. Anyway, I did enjoy the story...

Andy Barber is Assistant District Attorney for a wealthy suburb of Boston. He’s a very successful attorney who sees the world in black and white, guilty and innocent – highly in control of his actions and emotions. He has a pretty great life with a wife he still adores and feels lucky to have and...

There were really no surprises with this book. Oh sure, there were plot twists. But generally it was a typical courtroom drama. The writing was fine,I did think the pace was a little plodding at times. I am easily distracted and found myself wandering off when it got too detailed. In terms of charac...
