19/3 - I've been reading about the Cynsters for years, now I've finally gotten a hold of a copy of the original book from the library. Can't wait to see where it all started, the book that spawned 22 further books, so far (I wouldn't be surprised to see more Cynster stories featuring the younger set...

Painfully obvious "mystery." Had to skim through the last 50 pages of the book. There was just too much of everything. I enjoyed the Cynster family... except for the horrid, horrid nicknames, but even so I just could get past the utter banality of this book. Never has a book had me skimming through ...

I really do not know what caused me to read my first romance and a Historical (Bodice Ripper) to begin with but I did. There have been many of romances books on my shelf ever since then and there will be many more in the years to come because as a friend of mine from work likes to tell me they are ...

Meh. This Regency romance with a mystery plot struck me as standard romance novel--nothing too eye-rolling or wretched in style compared to most in the genre, but nothing that was pulling me through the pages either, and fits the marriage of convenience trope as well. After 100 pages I started skipp...
Yes, I was the kid reading under her desk
** spoiler alert ** This book was frustrating and horrid. I hated the heroine. She acted like an idiot but we were all supposed to respect her intelligence and she would show the ton how smart women were! If she was the one leading the way, we would have been set back at least 20 years. She was one ...

I didn't like the first chapter of this book. I was very damn close to tossing it out after it's lame start. (Girl moves to town to be a finishing governess and doesn't know the ducal family's name but is too afraid to just ask anyone. So, therefore goes around stupid. Oh, and she's very rich and do...

Loved it. I haven't read a good historical romance in ages. This one scratched my itch. Stephanie Laurens knows how to write a steamy love scene.

At the start I really enjoyed Honoria the main female character and her determination to be her own self and accomplish something more than what society expects of her and what they force her to be. I also enjoyed the playful banter between her and Devil and how she challenged him to be less of a co...
