I really don't have that much to say about this book: it's all about the cat. How wonderful he is and the wonderful effect he has had on the world especially to the people around him. I do agree with other reviews that any cat lovers may have written this book but I also think there is one special...

Saccharine sweet and full of morals... I forced myself to read until half of it before giving up. I love cats and Dewey might be able to touch me but not this book.

I think it's a bit of false advertising to say this is a book about Dewey, the library cat. It's more a book about Vicki Myron's life as it intersected with that of Dewey's. That didn't stop me from loving the book, and I laughed out loud several times, but the descriptions of Dewey's antics were de...

This book was so cute. It was more the story of the librarian, but it was also how a little throw away cat named Dewey made such a huge impact on a small library, then the US and then the world...I loved it.

Finally finished this! This last fortnight I've been managing about a chapter a day - and let's be honest, they aren't big chapters. A charming, easy read. I really enjoyed the background, non-Dewey material. And of course the stupid book made me cry.

This is a sweet confection about a librarian who finds a nearly frozen eight week old kitten in the bottom of their book return bin one frigid winter morn. The ladies adopt him and he finds a permanent home within the walls of their library delighting employees and patrons alike. The book is as mu...

I am easily touched whenever I read or watch anything that feature stories about pets and how their presence make a difference in the lives of the owners. Such stories tend to be bittersweet and for sure, they never fail to make me shed a tear or two (or a bucket in the case of Marley & Me)at the en...

What am emotional ride of a book! From the beginning to the end, it was a tear-jerker. But it was a good book. I may not have met Dewey in his lifetime, but I am glad I did during mine.

It's a true story about a library, a cat and Iowa. What's not to love.
